What do we offer?
At Connected Family Practice, we provide neurodiversity affirming psychoeducational evaluations, independent educational evaluations, executive functioning coaching for children and adolescents, social thinking support, and consultation and support for local schools. Our services are aimed at helping children succeed in school and beyond. We collaborate with The ABLE Center, Connected Pediatric Intervention, and Gwen Mediation to provide comprehensive care for your child.
Psychoeducational
Evaluations
Our psychoeducational evaluations assess your child's learning style and identify any learning or cognitive differences that may be impacting your child's academic performance. Evaluations can also identify social, emotional, or attentional differences that contribute to or compound learning differences.
Social Thinking
Support
If your child is neurodivergent, they may have some difficulty demonstrating social self-awareness, social cognition, executive functioning, self-regulation and perspective taking. Instead of teaching "neurotypical social skills," we take the approach of being a social detective, exploring what would typically be expected or unexpected in a given situation and also explore what feels right and authentic to your child. We do not promote "masking" of one's true self to conform to neurotypical expectations. We do, however, strive to empower neurodivergent children with information to allow them to choose when (or if) they will (or must) mask for safety or to support progress towards their self-determined social goals.
Consultation and Support for Schools
Providing consultation and support for schools on a variety of topics including bolstering MTSS/RTI/PBIS supports, analyzing and looking for trends in global screening data to make decisions about curriculum and tiered supports, developing tracking systems, and much more.
Executive Functioning
Coaching
Executive functioning coaching can help your child develop the skills necessary to self regulate, manage time, prioritize tasks, and stay organized. These skills are critical for success both in and out of the classroom.
Independent Educational Evaluations
If your child has been evaluated by your school district and you and/or the district are at odds about the results, our independent educational evaluations can provide a third party perspective about your child's eligibility for special education services. These evaluations are conducted at "public expense" in accordance to the Individuals with Disabilities Educational Act (IDEA) Sec. 300.502 Independent Educational Evaluation.
Collaborative
Care
At Connected Family Practice, we believe in a team-based approach to care. We collaborate with The ABLE Center, Connected Pediatric Intervention, and Gwen Mediation to provide comprehensive care for your child.
